According to the New York Times, there are 2.5 million blogs and 96 percent of internet users never look at any of them.

And just how did they come up with this statistic? Also, I would think the most looked at blogs are those that cater to communities. For example, web design communities. Blogs like yours and mine are probably hardly ever looked at. Though, I include my blog in my signature on newsgroups. So, I'm sure I get a few ganders here and there. :)

Yes, you have to take most statistics with a grain of salt. I mainly think it's interesting that hyped up technologies and cultural trends often don't affect the populace at large.
